Julio Ribeiro - Managing Director
Graduated from the University of Viçosa in Agricultural Engineering (1982) and with a Master of Science degree in Genetic Studies (1987). Between 1987 and 1990 Dr Ribeiro worked at the University of Minas Gerais on the commercial development of DNA fingerprinting, until he moved to Australia to commence his Doctoral thesis at the University of NSW and the Oncology Centre at the Prince of Wales Hospital.
Between 1998 and 2006 Dr Ribeiro worked for Sigma-Aldrich in a number of managerial roles, setting up its technical support, sales and fine chemical sales teams in Australia and New Zealand.
In 2006 he founded Inventia, and since then has been designing and managing a wide range of projects that focus on the commercialisation of new technology. These projects have included the contract manufacture of APIs, process engineering and a number of novel life science and industrial chemical applications.
In partnership with Luiz Porto, Dr Ribeiro has established IGT, in order to bring to Australia the latest developments in bovine IVF technology and know-how.
Luiz Porto - Business Development manager
A bovine reproduction specialist, who leads the team at IGT. Mr Porto is a graduate of the Veterinary Medicine School of São Paulo State University and has more than 23 years' experience in bovine reproduction. He was one of the pioneers of the use of ultrasound and foetal sexing techniques in Brazil. He has established successful bovine IVF businesses in four countries, and in recent years has directed some of the largest embryo technology projects in Brazil. One of these was Project Grendene, the biggest genetic improvement program ever undertaken for the Nelore breed, involving more than 40,000 head of cattle. At IGT he is supported by a team of scientists and technicians who together offer unparalleled experience in the commercial application of bovine IVF technology and the management of large scale breeding programs. Cedric Wise – Veterinarian Consultant
Graduated as a Veterinarian from the University of Queensland (1976) and holds a Masters degree from Colorado State University, following 4 years' post graduate work in Food Animal Medicine, Embryo Transfer and Semen Collection, as well as a Diploma of American College of Theriogenology. Later, on returning to Australia, Mr Wise became Member of the Australian College of Veterinary Science in Reproduction (M.A.C.V.Sc).
Since 1984 Mr Wise has worked in his own practice (Ced Wise AB Services), which is devoted entirely to artificial reproductive technologies in cattle, specialising in embryo transfer, semen collection and bull breeding soundness examinations of cattle. Mr Wise has worked in all States of Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia and Indonesia. He is a DAFF accredited veterinarian for the export of embryos, semen and livestock. Mr Wise provides veterinarian support to the IGT team.
